It struck me when Christopher Doyle said that in an interview. For the longest of time, I refuse to admit this truth, and in a sense, I still do. There is always a deliberate moonlighting and concealing of the desire to be loved as you are; a willed distance between one’s assumed identity and deepest yearnings.

And she plays a pretty alienated character who bluntly expresses how she won’t feel any attachment to her child when it’s born. The first 10 mins of the movie revolves around how happy she is being isolated from anyone.
So explain to me why you’re all being assholes to Sandra for playing a damn character role? Explain your sudden confusion about how she treats the kids?
Enough with ‘yeah Sandra ain’t shit’ in the movie just because she doesn’t react the way YOU want her to.
You don’t hate Sandra, you hate Malorie. And if you dislike her, guess what? Sandra did a fantastic job at her damn role.
It’s like that time everyone shitted on Lena Headey who plays Cersei Lannister, YOU’RE MEANT TO DISLIKE HER. Unless you’re me, I love Cersei. But that’s not the point here.
Stop shitting on Sandra for doing her job. Stop shitting on actors who are meant to be difficult, they’re meant to provoke an emotion out of you. If a director says ‘you’re meant to be difficult and not liked very well’ and that’s what you delivered that’s great acting! You delivered and that should be praised, admired, not whatever the fuck you’re doing. Cut the shit.
A good actress played a shitty character. The character is not the actress. This isn’t third grade , everyone.
